We had such a great Easter this year. Busy... a little hectic.... but really fun! We had a ward breakfast and Easter Egg hunt on Saturday. Our ward is the best! It's always so fun to be around our friends and one couple actually brought their pet bunny on a bunny leash. The girls LOVED that! Then we had Grandpa Steve and Grandma Beth in town for the day, so we headed down to the beach for lunch after the party. After some rowdy chicken fights and lots of seashell hunting, we hurried home to die eggs.
Sunday morning we had our egg hunt. Elsa ran around the house picking up candy and yelling "Mine! Mine! Mine!" We had a reprise of last year when Ava's basket was full of eggs and Elsa's was full of candy. There was an extra special surprise.... I actually finished my playhouse that I've been working on slowly for a year! I was so happy when the girls spent the whole day camped out in there and ended up sleeping in it.
After early morning church and a little lunch we went over to Kylee's ward and the girls sang "I Wonder When He Comes Again" in her sacrament program. I was soooooo proud to see them stand up there in front of all those people and really belt it out. Elsa had a small melt down during the passing of the sacrament and almost missed her big debut while she was out in the hall trying to work out her problems. She went up with a few tears running down her cheeks, but she pulled it out and finished strong! I had a little chat with Ava about the fact that adults tend to chuckle at little kids in church and if she heard people laughing it's because they think she's so cute. She really overcame some fears and did an amazing job!
Then, to finish off the day we rushed home to host an Easter party with our friends. It was a party to remember when Brent pulled the fire alarm and invited the Fire Department to our party. If you're ever looking for a sure-fire way to empty out a building and make sure that your neighbors know that they weren't invited to your party, just pull the fire alarm. A little embarrassing! The good news is that Brent was not hauled away to jail as he feared and he lived to tell the tale. The other kids got a good show and Elsa walked away from it all with a new dream.... She wants to be a fireman when she grows up.
After yet another egg hunt and goodbyes, we went inside to do damage control and put the girls to bed. When they asked to have a sleepover in the playhouse I couldn't refuse! After staying up ALL NIGHT on Saturday night to get it finished for Easter, I could not say no to a request like that! It was a good day. We missed family and many friends and hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend too!

Ava and Elsa holding on for dear life as Daddy and Grandpa get carried away in the chicken fight.

Elsa's face is priceless in this picture! If that doesn't say "Obsession" I don't know what will!

This girl loves a good Easter Egg!

Sweet Dreams!

Such cute pictures, thanks for posting. Looks like you guys had fun and I love, love the playhouse. It turned out so darling, now I need to pay you to make me one (I promise I won't really ask!) So I noticed how long the girls' hair is and I also noticed how "short" Jared's has gotten!:) May I ask what happened to his locks of hair?? I so wish I were there in person to ask him myself, it looks as though there has been a bit of a bic job done, is that right?? Do tell him I want the story. I love you guys and miss you tons.
