Taos

We were able to attend the Dunn Family Reunion in Taos, NM this year and it was, to say the least, AWESOME! Thanks Aunt Deb for putting together such a great time! My dad borrowed a suburban from the church after flirting with the idea of borrowing a minivan. Thank Goodness! We had Mom, Dad, Mare, Jared, Me, Ava and Elsa. Not only did we have a boat-load of people, but we also ended up driving about 12 hours each way. We had some good laughs and a few green faces as Jared drove 90 around hair-pin turns.

Our first stop was Mesa Verde to see the Indian ruins. It was cool to see and a much needed rest.

Ava, Elsa, Sam, Lily & Charlie

Grandma Penny, Ava & Sammy

When we finally got to Taos, we had an ice cream/welcome social at our hotel. It was so fun to see everyone and all the new babies in the family. The next few days were filled with pueblos, river rafting on the Rio Grande, 4th of July at the Lazy H Ranch and some good Hot Tubbing!

Shopping in Taos.

The girls got horses from Horse Feathers, a shop in town.

Will, Sally, Tom, Annie and Dave conquer the Rio Grande

Ava, Emily and Olivia strap in for a ride to the ranch.

Olivia, Charlie and Elsa drive the ranch-mobile.

Ava loved Joe. (That wasn't really this horse's name.)

Climbing fences, looking at cows.

Jared and Uncle Paul

Charlie ropes a steer.

Jamie and Lily holding a chicken.

The kids loved the chickens and Sophie was particularly good at catching them.

Ava could've chased the chickens all day long. And I did chase her with the sanitizing wipes all day long!

Emily and Tom check out the horses.

Could we cram anymore Dunn kids into this hot tub?!

Our final hooray and my personal favorite part of the trip was the dinner at Michael's the last night. We were able to hear from family members' thoughts on the importance of families and reunions and we were able remember and miss Grandma and Grandpa Dunn. We were told that the last of their estate that hadn't been distributed went to paying for that wonderful family meal. We Love and Miss Grandpa and Grandma!!!

How neat! We live close to Taos! We rafted on the Rio Grande just this summer. How fun. I bet you had a blast.
